For about a decade, Wilburton was a larger town than nearby Bellevue. It had a large sawmill, four hundred people, and a busy atmosphere. This presentation tells the story of Wilburton from its roots as a small logging camp to the development of our neighborhood. Join Eastside Heritage Center as Carla Trsek shares her unique research into this Bellevue neighborhood.

In compliance with King County public health regulations, people participating in activities at Bellevue community centers, recreation facilities, and environmental education visitor centers are required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.

McDowell House Anniversary Event

Come celebrate the completion of the Historical McDowell House’s 100th year. This two story structure was built using some of the last lumber to come out of the Wilburton Mill in 1918 by John H. and Ella McDowell. Over the decades the house was sold to a series of owners until it was bought by the City of Bellevue in 1988. It is now the headquarters of Eastside Heritage Center.

Come visit the house and learn more about this historic landmark on Saturday, August 24th. Enjoy historic displays, children’s activities, and share with us in honoring the history of the Eastside.

Please RSPV: Parking is Limited

Because we have limited parking please RSPV by email at info@eastsideheritagecenter.org or by phone at (425) 450-1049 and let us know you are coming and if you will drive.
