A coffee-table compilation titled Seattle Now and Then: The Historic Hundred will showcase the most compelling and essential of the more than 1,800 “Seattle Now and Then” photo-history columns that Dorpat has produced for the Sunday magazine of The Seattle Times for the more than 36 years since January 1982.
The 244-page hardcover book (Documentary Media, 2018, $49.95) features a total of 250 photos and text from more than 100 columns. On the book’s two-foot-wide spreads, each stunning “then” image from Seattle’s past is paired with a new and matching, full-color “now” photographed by co-author Jean Sherrard, who has served as Dorpat’s “now” photographer for the past dozen years.
